Dosage and Administration
The usual dose for most infections is one tablet (200 mg of Cefixime + 200 mg of Ofloxacin) once daily. For more severe infections, the dose may be one tablet twice daily.
The combination is generally not recommended for children.
Precautions
Do not take Cefixime or Ofloxacin if you are allergic to cephalosporins or fluoroquinolones. Anaphylaxis, rashes, and itching may occur. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction.
Ofloxacin, as a fluoroquinolone, has been associated with an increased risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture, If you experience pain or swelling in your tendons, stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical care.
Both Cefixime and Ofloxacin are cleared by the kidneys, so dose adjustment is necessary for patients with impaired kidney function.
