Zybu

This is a liquid formulation of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen), an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer), designed to provide effective relief from mild to moderate pain and reduce fever. The concentration of Paracetamol in this suspension is 156.25 mg per 5 ml, making it suitable for precise dosing, particularly in children or individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

Paracetamol works by inhibiting the enzyme COX (cyclooxygenase), which is involved in the production of prostaglandins. These prostaglandins are chemicals in the body that promote inflammation, pain, and fever.

Formulation: Liquid suspensions are commonly used for easier administration, especially in pediatric care, and for individuals who may have difficulty swallowing pills or tablets.

Precautions

Liver and Kidney Function:

Liver Disease: Paracetamol is metabolized in the liver, and excessive use can lead to severe liver damage. People with liver conditions (e.g., liver cirrhosis, hepatitis) should use this medication with caution or avoid it altogether, depending on the severity of the condition.

Kidney Disease: Caution should be exercised in individuals with impaired kidney function.

Alcohol Use: Excessive alcohol consumption can increase the risk of liver damage when using Paracetamol. It is advised to avoid alcohol while taking this medication.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Paracetamol is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used at the recommended doses. However, it is always best to consult a healthcare provider before using any medication during pregnancy or lactation.

Overdose Risk: Paracetamol overdose can result in severe liver damage, and it is critical to seek immediate medical attention if more than the recommended dose is taken. Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and confusion.
