Teneligliptin + Metformin HCL

The combination of Teneligliptin and Metformin HCL is an effective treatment for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus. Teneligliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that enhances the secretion of insulin and suppresses glucagon levels in response to meals. Metformin is a first-line antidiabetic agent that works by decreasing hepatic glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity. Together, they provide synergistic glycemic control.

  • Recommended Usage
Indications:
  • Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.
  • As an adjunct to diet and exercise to achieve better glycemic control.
  • Can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.
Dosage and Administration:
  • Administered orally, typically twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
  • Dosage depends on the formulation and patient needs:
    • Common doses: Teneligliptin 20mg + Metformin 500mg/850mg/1000mg.
  • Maximum daily dose: Teneligliptin 20mg and Metformin 2000mg.
  • Dosage adjustments may be required based on renal function and glycemic control.
Precautions:
  • Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, metabolic acidosis, or known hypersensitivity to any component.
  • Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or cardiovascular disease.
  • Regular monitoring of renal function and blood glucose levels is recommended.
  • Discontinue immediately if lactic acidosis is suspected.
Key Benefits:
  • Dual Mechanism: Provides comprehensive glycemic control by targeting both insulin secretion and glucose production.
